Not sure if you have heard of Jennifer (aka PotPieGirl), but she’s a lady from Georgia who makes a living from full time internet marketing. She began her journey using free methods to sell affiliate products, and now has a few products of her own. She has recently developed a free system called The D.A.M. Way, which stands for “Direct Article Marketing.” If you are currently writing articles for clients and residual income sites such as eHow and Suite 101, The D.A.M. way can be a easier way to passive income for you.
In The D.A.M. Way, Jennifer shows you how to create articles to drive traffic to affiliate products. This can be done by direct linking to the affiliate’s salespage with a special link that will give you commissions on each sale. As you scale it up, you are shown how to create your own web presence through Web 2.0 sites (Squidoo, Hubpages, etc) or with your own site. Don’t think it’s too difficult to get into this, as Jennifer has it outlined in a step by step format. As long as you can write articles (which I assume you can if you are a freelance writer or someone looking to get started), then you can use The D.A.M. Way to make money.
The concept, and the reason behind the name, of The D.A.M. Way is similar to that of a beaver building a dam to protect his home and collect food. Just as a beaver uses one stick at a time to build a dam, you will create one article at a time to building an online affiliate business.

Many internet marketers who would like to get their foot in the door without much upfront investment choose the “Bum Marketing Method.” First coined and taught by Travis Sago, the Bum Marketing Method allows newbies to begin earning money through article marketing. This is great for freelance writers, as we know how to turn out good quality articles. We do this on a daily basis for clients, though we only get paid one time for an article. With this method, we can earn several times off one article if it is good enough to get lots of visitors (buyers).
Basically, the technique is done by writing and submitting articles to various article directories. These websites allow you to add links to the bottom of your articles, which you can use to promote a product as an affiliate. You are essentially the middleman, connecting the seller’s product to a desperate crowd ready to buy. You can get a special affiliate link to the product in order to earn commissions when visitors click and buy through your link.
The best place to get started selling others’ products is Clickbank.com. They have over 10,000 digital products ready for anyone to promote. Once you have the link, you can add it to the end of your articles you publish to drive traffic. Some directories will not allow you to use your affiliate link in the articles you submit to them. The trick is getting a free blog at Wordpress.com or Blogger.com, creating a landing page (a page that will presell the visitor with a story, the benefits of the product, or bonuses you can offer a visitor if they buy through your link), and then adding your link to it in order to still get credit for the sale.
This is a rough overview of how the Bum Marketing Method works. If you want to know the in-depth instructions, check out Travis Sago’s free information at BumMarketingMethod.com.

When redoing the site, I considered scraping everything I had and starting anew. However, I have over a year of content on here, and someone may find my older posts beneficial to them in some way. Therefore, I decided just to leave everything and just move forward. The site will now feature internet marketing advice as well as that of freelance writing. I am gradually making the shift from writing for others to writing solely for myself. I’ll pass along any good information and products I find to help me along the way, in order to help you get started or progress in your ventures of writing, marketing, or both!
The site still needs a little work, such as re-categorizing the posts, but I really had to get it out of maintenance mode. Expect a few more changes and some new stuff added in the next few days. I’m ready to use this site to it’s full extent rather than letting it collect virtual dust!
