Not Too Productive…

Well, this week has been a lot less productive than I had hoped it would be. I had 2 articles rejected from Demand Studios. I’ll attribute that to the fact that I wrote about things that I had no clue about…even though I felt I revised them well enough when I was given the opportunity to rewrite, I guess they were still too vague. This has been my worst week at Demand, as the review times are still quite slow.

I did manage to add 2 new articles at eHow. I feel really good about the residual income I could earn from that site, and hope to add tons more articles during the month of April. My earnings for March were $0.28, but I had joined at the end of the month, and only published 2 articles. I hope to get as good as WriterGig, who has been earning over $1,000 a month in passive income with eHow. I also plan to purchase her eHow guide to passive income very soon.

I have also decided to begin dabbling into affiliate marketing again. I purchased a “newbie workbook” from the Warrior Forum, and began reading through it last weekend. I started following the step-by-step manual on Monday, and by Tuesday, someone had already purchased the ebook I am promoting! I was very excited by that, even if it was $13! Just imagine if I sold 10 a week…

Over the weekend (probably after stuffing myself at my family Easter dinner on Sunday), I am going to post some goals that I hope to accomplish next week. A lot of writers whose blogs I read are doing this now, as a way of becoming more accountable for what they do. I will share these goals on Sunday night, then update next Friday with what I did throughout the week.

Promotions Galore!

In the past couple weeks, I have been the most pro-active about advertising my freelance writing services than I have ever been. Not just advertising, but reaching out to get new clients. I signed up for Elance, and have placed bids on about 5 projects so far. Two of them are still open, and I am really crossing my fingers for one, as it will be a long term relationship. I plan to review Elance soon on my blog…when I get a better feel for the site and have formed an opinion.

I also decided to post an ad on Craigslist. My husband and I have had great success with selling items on there, so I thought, what the heck? I’d at least give it a shot. I did this on Sunday, and I had someone contact me yesterday…not even a full 24 hours later! I ended up getting him as a new client, and the relationship looks promising.

I dug up a planner I used to school last semester to begin keeping track of my deadlines and such. I was going to make it just for my writing assignments, but I decided to include other activities (school, personal, doctor’s appointments, etc.) so I can be sure to schedule to write extra on one day to make up for not being home on another. I feel keeping this planner (along with the use of 1,000′s of Post It Notes!) will keep me on track.

So Much to Do

Some people think that those who work at home have it easy because they can work when they want. While this is somewhat true, if you let your assignments pile up (and they sometimes do this faster than you realize), you can have a whole mound of things to get done in a short amount of time.

I decided to cook for my whole family last night (by whole, I mean, my husband, parents, brother, sister, and of course, myself). I made a Turkey Taco Pie which was served with Spanish rice and corn. It was really delicious! It was a new recipe, and if you know me, you know I’m a horrible cook, so I was quite proud of myself. :)

So now to the point of this blog! Because I cooked and spent time with my family, I didn’t really get anything done last night. Today, I have to finish 4 articles for a client, at least 7 for Demand Studios (personal goal), scan and email some information to a possible client, and work on my niche blog project I just started yesterday. Luckily, tomorrow is a free day, so I’ll have the whole day to play catch up!

Sponsored Blogging – Easy Way to Earn an Online Income

As I have mentioned in a previous post, I began writing online as a blogger. I decided I wanted my own little space on the World Wide Web, so I bought a domain name and hosting package, learned how to install WordPress, and off I went! It wasn’t too long before I discovered that others were making money off of their personal blogs by doing sponsored posts. This idea intrigued me, as my husband and I are always in need of a little extra cash!

I began my adventure with a company called Bloggerwave. I am still a member there, but I no longer check the site for new opportunities to make money, as they have not updated in quite a while. Anyways, the only requirement was that my blog was 90 days old, had some content on it (I think it needed 10 original posts?), and was updated regularly. I signed up, and was approved in a couple of days.

When I received my first assignment, I felt like a kid in a candy store! It was unbelieveable that I was going to make $10 (yes, 10 whole dollars!!) writing 100 words about Bloggerwave. I sat down, wrote the post in less than 10 minutes, and submitted the link to it. A month later, I had $10 in my PayPal account. Again, estatic that I had made so much money doing so little!!

I went on to sign up for other sponsored blogging companies, and began making a fairly decent income off of this. I still do it now on a couple of blogs, but only for one company.

The sites I have worked with are in the sidebar…I have been paid by each, so I know they are all legit. I will probably do a review of each one in the future, so that’s something for you to look forward to!
